Not just the Christmas meeting, but the 10th Birthday party. Andy Nowson gave an overview of his new book on Caithness paperweights, and Kevin Moore entertained with some of the highlights and odder moments of the first 10 years of the NPS. The design competition for the 10th Anniversary paperweight was won by Helen Thornton.

Derek Carter at Accrington 8 October 2011
Collector Derek Carter - also the General Secretary and Archivist of the PCC - gave an illustrated talk on the history of glass making (and in particular paperweight making) in Perth.

Jonathan Harris at Altrincham 25 June 2011
Second generation glass maker Jonathan Harris was guest speaker at the June meeting held near Altrincham, Cheshire.

45 members were in awe as Jonathan explained how he created his Graal and Cameo pieces, many made with gold and silver leaf. He also told us about royal visits to his studio at Ironbridge and members of the royal family who have pieces in their collection.

You can visit Jonathan Harris in his studio, in the courtyard of the Coalport China Museum. This is on the banks of the river Severn, within Shropshire's picturesque and famed Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site.

Peter Holmes at Kendal 12 March 2011
Over 40 people met near Kendal to hear Peter Holmes talk about his life as a paperweight maker, and to see examples of his latest work. There were also hundreds of paperweight to see or buy from the several paperweight dealers present.
